America's Great Outdoors Listening Sessions to Open June 2nd
2010-05-21 / Adam Cramer
The Obama administration is set to kick off the next phase of the America's Great Outdoors (AGO) initiative with 'listening sessions' in Bozeman, Helena and Missoula, Montana June 2nd. As part of a national dialogue designed to promote conservation and reconnect Americans with the natural world, the administration wants to learn about some of the smart, creative ways communities are conserving outdoor spaces. Listening sessions will continue throughout the summer with the Department of Interior, U.S.D.A, Environmental Protection Agency and Council on Environmental Quality collaborating on sessions throughout the country, gathering information and ideas and eventually reporting directly to the President before the end of the year. This is an incredibly unique opportunity for the outdoor community and the American people at large to be heard. Outdoor Alliance is working closely with Montana based partners to bring our voice to next month's listening sessions. Can't make the Montana sessions? Head to the AGO Ideajam website, http://ideas.usda.gov/ago/ideas.nsf/ to share your ideas, opinions or dreams for a better tomorrow. And stay tuned here for updates on future locations and events.
